Surrons Battery, Range, Charging & Maintenance

How Long Does The Battery Last

When measuring the strength of the surron e bike battery, we measure the distance it can cover when fully charged. We call this distance the “Range” and that is  the key factor about the strength of an e bike battery. For the Surrons, we have and average of  20-60 miles (32-96 km) for the Light Bee X and 60-70+ miles (96-112+ km) for the newer Ultra Bee, with factors like Eco vs. Sport mode, terrain, rider weight, and speed heavily influencing real-world distance.

Charging Capacity

Surron e-bikes, mainly the popular Light Bee X, use a removable 60V 40Ah (around 2.4kWh) lithium-ion battery, charging in 2.5-4 hours with a standard 10A charger, offering 20-70 miles range depending on mode and terrain, while models like the Ultra Bee have larger 74V batteries for more power and range, charging faster (20-80% in 2.5 hrs for some).

Surron Light Bee X (Most Common)

  • Battery: 60V 40Ah Lithium-ion (approx. 2400Wh).
  • Charger: Comes with a 10A charger.
  • Charge Time: About 2.5-4 hours for a full charge, or 2 hours for 20-80%.
  • Range: 20-70 miles, varying by Eco/Sport mode, terrain, and riding style.

Surron Storm Bee

  • Voltage: 104V (standard), some models 90V.
  • Capacity: 55Ah (standard), some models 48Ah.
  • Technology: Lithium-Ion.
  • Charging: Around 4 hours for a full charge with the 10A charger.
Performance & Range:

  • Range: Up to 75 miles (120 km) at 31 mph (50 km/h) on ideal terrain, but varies greatly with riding style and mode.
  • Power: Liquid-cooled, 10kW rated motor with 22.5kW peak power.
Surron Ultra Bee
  • Battery: 74V 60Ah High-performance Li-ion.
  • Charge Time: Around 2.5 hours (20-80%) for newer models.

Maintenance

  • Riding Mode: Sport mode uses significantly more battery than Eco mode.
  • Terrain: Hills and rough terrain drain the battery faster.
  • Charger: A higher amperage charger (e.g., 10A) charges much faster than standard lower-amp chargers.
  • Battery Health: Like all lithium batteries, capacity decreases over 500+ charge cycles.
